Travel to the heart of the Karst region and explore the Skocjan caves, an underground marvel with
nice stalactites, stalagmites, and other interesting rock formations. They are beautiful, but what sets
this spectacular cave system apart from other caves is the underground Reka river and the largest
discovered underground cavern in all of Europe (and one of the largest in the world). The cave is
several million years old and due to its exceptional significance, the Skocjan caves are a UNESCO
protected site since 1986.
Your next stop will be the hinterland of the Slovenian Istria, where Lisjak olive oil estate educates
about olive oil, how to taste it, how to use it, what are its benefits etc,... Lisjak‘s olive-growing
tradition is more than 150 years old - olive oil is their passion, their life. The knowledge and their
newest and most advanced mill in the area gives them the opportunity to make one of the best olive
oils in the world. Their oils were awarded as no. 1 in the world for several times in a row. Lunch with
local delicases will be served there.
Your last visit will be Piran, a typical Mediterranean town designated by a lovely St. Georges Church
and square, named after Piran’s most famous citizen - musician Giuseppe Tartini. It is situated at the
cape of the Piran peninsula on the Northern side of Istria. The town is actually one large museum
with the medieval architecture and rich culture heritage. Narrow streets and tight houses form a
special charm of the town. Piran is also an administrative centre of the local area and important

Lake Bled is a picture perfection and it is every bit as lovely in real life. With its bluish-green lake,
picture-postcard church on an islet, a medieval castle perched high on a cliff above the lake and
some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps and the Karavanke as backdrops, Bled is Slovenia's most
popular resort. Its charm has made it a symbol for centuries of a town to which guests from all over
the world love to return. You will first take a ride to Bled Island by pletna (local wooden boat)
followed by a visit of Bled castle where also lunch will be served.
On return to Ljubljana you will visit an organic beekeeper that has a very long honey tradition in the
region. Beekeeping occupies a special place in Slovenia's economy as one of its oldest traditional
crafts. With five beekeepers per 1,000 inhabitants, Slovenia is at the very top of the list of European
Union countries ranked by the number of beekeepers. You will see all the phases of honey production

Slovenia. Continue your drive towards Partisan Hospital Franja, the awe-inspiring secret World War II
hospital. It is an extraordinary, still preserved authentic monument from the time of National
